Dr. Jeff Traina was one of the youngest physicians to graduate from a United States medical school. He finished high school at the age of 16 and finished college at the age of 19. He graduated from medical school at the age of 22. After his six years of specialty training in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Traina accumulated a fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital. He initially started his practice with the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and full-time academics as Director of Orthopedic Research, head of the Orthopedic Reconstruction Service in the Division of Orthopedic Surgery. After two years in this position, he missed central Illinois and moved to Peoria, Illinois in 1986 and has been in full-time practice in orthopedic surgery in Peoria since that time.
Dr. Traina belongs to numerous orthopedic and scientific societies. He attends continuing medical education meetings regularly in his field.
