Dr. George Lane, Sr. is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Chicago where he received a BA in Biology. He received his MD from the University of Chicago in 1976. Dr. Lane then went to Indiana University where he served a one year general surgery internship followed by a four year orthopedic residency. After his orthopedic residency, he came to Peoria, Illinois in 1982 to work in a clinical setting and then went on to solo private practice from 1985 until 2002 at which time he became senior partner of Advanced Orthopedics.

Besides caring for patients in private practice, Dr. Lane has been a consultant to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and is Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at the Illinois State Bureau of Prisons at River Valley and Canton Correctional Institution. Dr. Lane is on staff at each hospital in Peoria. He has served as the Medical Staff President of Proctor Hospital as well as Chief of Surgery. He is presently on the Board of Directors of Proctor Hospital Foundation.
